Fellow trustees, educators, staff, parents and my dear students, I am delighted to be addressing you on the august occasion of India’s 73rd Republic Day celebration at our school, commemorating the day we committed to become a sovereign, socialistic, secular and democratic republic. The last two years have been challenging for the entire world. Life and processes as we knew them changed drastically. It was and still is in many cases a adapt or die scenario. Some of us did phenomenally well, others floundered and some unfortunately, failed. But through it all what has become abundantly clear to me is that change truly is the only constant in life. But to expect the world or anyone or anything to change is foolhardy. Because the only thing you can truly change is yourself. Change, evolve “Be the change that you wish to see in the world”, as Mahatma Gandhi said. Your parents, teachers, elders, me we are the present or maybe even the past of the country but you, you are the future. And a country is only as strong as its future is. The choices you make will not just dictate your future but also that of the country. So make smart, responsible choices. Build the India, you dream of. Jai Hind. Thank you.
